Hi! I’m Isha!
I’m 9 years old, and have always wanted to find ways to help others when I can. Over the last couple of months, with everything going on in Ukraine and hearing about what the Ukrainian people are going through, I thought that there had to be something that I could do to help.
I’ve also just learned how to make jewelry thanks to my grandma, and I thought that might be the answer. Making jewelry has been so much fun, and I’ve been teaching my friends and my sisters how to do it, too! Taking something this fun and using it to make a difference just made sense.
After that, all I had to do was figure out how to help. I remembered my dad telling me about World Central Kitchen and what they do, and thought that if we sold some of the jewelry we were making and gave the money to them, that would be a great way to really get the Ukrainian people the things that they need.
And now, here we are! We wanted to start with bracelets made with the colors of the Ukrainian flag, and sell them to whoever wants one. We’re going to be donating all of the proceeds to World Central Kitchen.
But here’s the best part - each bracelet donates 100 meals for Ukrainian people displaced by the crisis! That’s such a big help for just one bracelet!
I’m so excited to make more of these! Click here to get one of your own, and visit the World Central Kitchen website to learn more about what they’re doing to help out those impacted by the Ukrainian crisis.
